I’m Being Held Captive – Please Send Help!

These people – they tied me up and are holding me prisoner.  I don’t know what I did to deserve this.  They say I laundered money or something, but I swear I didn’t.  They are withholding food and water, so I don’t know how long I can make it before throwing in the towel.  They say when they no longer need me, I will be drowned.  I saw what they did to my friend.  She kept her head above water in the beginning and even during the waterfalls, but was lost when she entered the spinning whirlpool.  Please send help as my days are numbered.  I am drying up quickly. I don’t remember the room number, but I know it’s at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at this place called Disney in Orlando, Florida. Please hurry before I’m all washed up!

Eaten by a Dragon

or is he smiling for the camera?  Hard to tell.  Those dragons’ll fool ya.

Oh, is that a dragon?  Or a water horse?  Or could it be Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster?

Y’all have a completely terrifical Tuesday!  Love ya!  *squish*

Sunday Post: People

This is just part of the line waiting to get in to experience The Haunted Mansion at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  We were in this line at one point.  And just because we went in October does not mean it was a comfortable wait by any means.  It was as hot as H-E-double hockey sticks!  Standing in that heat for so long made me nearly pass out.  If and when you go, and I totally recommend you do, if you love a grand time, you’d be better off going in November or December, if you are a wimp like me when it comes to the heat and humidity.  Plus, the water parks are still open during those months, so you won’t miss out on anything.

We have been on cruises, visited Mexico, traveled by car and plane to many states around America, and I’d have to say that Disney was our best vacation to date.  Mama wasn’t even looking forward to going, except for staying in the Animal Kingdom Lodge since she knew she would be seeing animals outside her balcony.  However, once we arrived on the property, she magically turned from 60-something to 8 right before our very eyes.  I had been looking forward to Disney since I was a little girl, so I had been anticipating its aweseomeness since I was about 6.  We actually used to live in Florida when I was little, but my biological father never wanted to take us, so I finally did once I had a child.  Hallie was 8, Mama turned 8 once we got there, and I turned 8 the moment I knew we were going to plan the trip.  Oh, and when you do plan your trip, try to do so 6 to 9 months in advance, so that you can book all of your reservations for the restaurants in which you wish to dine.  There are princess breakfasts and brunches, awesome, awesome, awesome restaurants with awesome, awesome views.  If you want some recommendations, just let me know.  Let me just tell you that the food in all these establishments were magnificent and we have never eaten so good, nor have we since.  The dining experiences, as well as all the fun you could possibly have will blow you away.

Oh, and as far as the long wait to get into The Haunted Mansion, it was worth it.  Plus, that is the only thing we had to wait long for.  With everything else, the lines went pretty swiftly.  We did have a fast pass with many of the rides and shows, so we could get our tickets with the time to come back, and go do something else until our time came up.

Best.  Vacation.  Ever.

‘Dog Tired at Disney’

I know I’ve posted it before.

This just has to be one of my favorites of all time.  Every time I see it, it makes me smile.  I remember sitting at Disney, taking a brief rest on a bench with my two girls (Hallie and Mama), and we had been watching this sweet family talking with each other. I turned away for just a moment, while chatting it up and just watching all the passers by and goings on.  I looked back over to these guys and they were all down for the count.

That’s why I try not to sit down when I’m at home cleaning, because I know if I do, that’ll be all she wrote.  Perhaps this is why my house is a mess.  😉

Disney is awesome fun!  But careful, ’cause it’ll wear you out!

Really Rockin’ Fireworks Extravaganza!  It’s sort of cheating, I know.  Had to think o’ somethin…

Another trip down memory lane.  This was one of the many fireworks shows at Epcot, I think it was, while we were at Disney in 2008.  Enjoy!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused

I hope you enjoy my unfocused, fuzzy photo of Hallie trying to figure out her own digital camera.  Unfortunately, it was quite the pitiful camera and maybe lasted a week.  It was a cheapy.  She was 8 here, when we were at Disney.  We were standing on the balcony of our room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  We got a couple of cute shots of the animals down below, too.  Perhaps I’ll post those another day, since those were actually in focus.  Who knew?

Ah, Hallie.  My little cutie patooty.  And my favorite subject, if you haven’t figured that one out by now.  The stormy sky would probably be my second favorite subject.  What do you think?  I also sooooo love the mountains.  The Grand Canyon.  Traveling and the scenery along the roadside.  I think I could totally make a living on the road snappin’ photos, travelin’ around the globe, if that paid me anything, I mean.  Wouldn’t THAT be the job of a lifetime?  Besides being a mother, of course.  😉

Hope you had a most lovely day.  May we all have a restful evening.  I’m off to put away clean clothes and wash the supper dishes.  Yummy spaghetti, spinach and iceberg caesar salad and garlic toast.  An easy supper.  I don’t normally care too much for spaghetti, but I suppose it was right tasty.  Must have been.  Hallie and I both ate every bite on our plates!  😉

Night y’all!  Love ya.  *big squish*

I Scream. You Scream. We All Scream for…

You guessed it. ICE CREAM! What a perfect day it was for something cold.

Looking at Disney pics again.  Hallie, enjoying her complimentary bowl of ice cream.  The restaurant treated her since it was her birthday.  She could have had a sundae, but all she wanted was the vanilla.  She knows what she likes.  She was turning 8 here.

She says she looks like she’s 37 in this photo.  haha!  Do you think she looks 37?  She might look a bit older than 8 but don’t think she could pass for 37.  Everyone used to ask me, including strangers, if I colored her hair.  As if!?  NEVER.  God, along with the sun, gave her natural highlights.  I would never color my child’s hair.

She still enjoys a big bowl of vanilla, or cheesecake.  She’ll even settle for chocolate.  😉  Honey, gimme chocolate every time!  I’m a creature of habit.  I mean, if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.

Hope y’all had an awesome day today.  We went and got makeovers.  Then, out to eat lunch and then, to the movies to see The Avengers!  Totally awesome, of course!  I’m just really a kid at heart and I LOVE comics.  I love super heroes.  And gimme any super hero flick and I’m there, buddy.  The three of us do go crazy for a super hero movie.  Heck, I wanna BE a super hero, as long as I can wear my mask and no one knows who I am.  My identity would have to be a secret, since I would NEVER wish to be a public figure.  I’d never choose to be famous or known or recognized.  Yuck.  Fame and fortune?  No thanks.  The fortune part, maybe.  😉  Not too rich, though.  Comfortable would be nice.  But, I’m happy as we are.  I got my girls and our health is good.  I don’t really need anything else.  They are my mashed p’tators.  😉  Anything else good in life is  gravy.

Oh, and after the movie?  Got groceries and then to pick up some ice cream for Hallie.  Mama and I could not be swayed from our favorite treat – chai tea frappe’s.  Oh BABY!!!  With whipped cream on top.  I’m salivating just thinking about it.  I need to learn how to make those at home, but then, I’d probably be as big as a house, so maybe I’ll just go out for a treat once a week.

Anywho, tell me about your day.  Do anything fun?  I wanna know all about it.

*hug*  and have a peaceful sleep t’night.

A-Z Archive: M! Challenge

Memories of Disney with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Oh, the dreamy days of Disney in Orlando.  Our best vacation, thus far.  I can hardly wait to go back and check out Harry Potter Themepark at Universal, too.  One day…

Hallie was 8 years old when we went.  Mama wasn’t looking forward to even going to Disney, only happy about staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge with the animals underneath the balcony, which was pretty cool.  However, once we arrived on the grounds, she turned into an 8-year-old right before my very eyes.  We all had the best time!  Ya need at least 7 full days to do everything ya wanna do.  I think we stayed maybe 5 days and that wasn’t nearly enough.  And the FOOD was spectacular.

Of course, you have to get yourself a Disney planner/book to figure out all the restaurants you want your special event breakfasts and your most delectable dining experiences in the evenings.  You have to reserve your tables about 6 months (or longer) in advance at all the restaurants, if you want a chance to eat there (and if you want a certain seat.  Coral Reef – get tankside) and if you want your child(ren) to get to meet their favorite characters, talk with them and get autographs and pictures with them.

Disney was on my Bucket List.  I had wanted to visit since I was a little girl, and I finally did, and now we all want to go again.  Just best vacation ever.

Hope y’all had a beautiful day.  Thunderstorms here again, which is fine, as long as it doesn’t make the house vibrate.  Hallie doesn’t care for the lightning, nor the thunder.  Neither do Buddy and Lilly.  Tiger and Carlie cry to come inside, but alas, Lilly + cats = disaster.

L will tear down the house chasin’ after those kitties.  Picture teeny leetle fluff-dog chasing after giant roaring lions.  That’s them.  The cats are bigger than Lilly and she loves everybody.  She’s so hyper.  That’s why we call her our leetle mexican jumpin’ bean.  She wants to lick you to death and play with you and jump on you and laugh and dance and…  Well, ya get the picture.  The cats get tired of it.  Tiger doesn’t mind playin’, but he wants to wrestle and pins Lilly down to the floor.  Then Lilly screams, “MAMA!”  Carlie?  Well, she’s just too good for dogs.  She’s a princess, remember?  She can’t be seen talking to a…DOG.  Can’t have that.
